Pine Wing is a 300-acre preserve located in Northern Elmore County (a few miles north of Wetumpka), 85 miles southwest of Birmingham and 30 miles northeast of Montgomery. Pine Wing is going on its fifth year of operation. The preserve season runs from October 1 through March 31st and is open (by appointment only) 7 days a week.
Pine Wing is laid out with the foot hunter in mind. The principal quail hunting area is gently rolling land under a pine tree canopy. The land is covered in sedge grasses, numerous food and bird cover plots (bi-color lespedeza, Johnson grass, love grass, brown top millet, milo, partridge pea, etc).
Pine Wing’s Guide, George Long, has handled and trained bird-dogs all of his life. He also raises the majority of the quail, chukkar and pheasant that are available for hunting at Pine Wing. The Pine Wing kennels consist of English & Elhew Pointers, English Setters and a German Short Hair Pointer.
Hunters may bring their own meals and beverages or make arrangements with George Long.

All hunts should be booked directly with George Long (256) 234-4550.
