Where the plains of the blackbelt meet the piney woods in rural Alabama lies the 2500-acre P-Arrow Plantation. Extensively managed for game for twenty years, the P-Arrow is a conveniently located hunting and fishing paradise, which is for the first time being opened to the discriminating outdoorsman. During the 2002 season a few guided whitetail deer and bobwhite quail hunts are available. Also available are guided largemouth bass and bream fishing trips in over 100 acres of great fishing lakes.
In April, 16 years ago, Gator, an English Pointer, was born. He has hunted every P-Arrow bird hunt since he was six months old. His blood is in almost all of the dozen or so English pointers anxiously waiting to please you. These pointing dogs are a line developed by the owners of the P-Arrow over the last 40 years.
Gator will co-host your hunting trip in the home of Zina and Drayton Pruitt. Old south hospitality-southern cooking - a long fire - a bon fire roaring outside - a Viking professional Kitchen - bar - and bedrooms with private baths provide comfortable accommodations for up to four hunters.
When Gator smells the coffee making, he will awaken you for a real southern breakfast, and then with a bark or two lead you to the kennels. There you will meet Dixon and Luke (two 1600 pound Belgian Mules) hitched to a dog wagon full of Gator's relatives. With experienced guides you can ride the dog wagon or registered Tennessee Walking Horses to experience covey rises of fast flying Bobwhites from sedge grass covered pine hills or stream side fields of partridge peas, Egyptian wheat, and corn.
You may hunt the wary Whitetail Buck on green fields from comfortable shooting houses or tree stands. In your off time fishing, sporting clays, nature trails and historic tours are available.
Recently, P-Arrow opened over 100 acres of prime bass and bream fishing lakes for individuals or for Corporate Retreats. Livingston is conveniently located just east of Interstate 59 and 20 between Birmingham, Alabama and Jackson, Mississippi.
