Old Spring Hill Plantation is located in northwest Barbour County in the small community of Spring Hill, Alabama. The grounds include a beautiful southern plantation built in 1841, set in a pecan orchard and surrounded by numerous historical sites and buildings that our guests are invited to explore.
Quail hunting is done in true southern style using a mule-drawn wagon, trained bird dogs worked by the mounted professional handler, with plenty of birds scattered through open fields and pine forests. During a day of quail hunting, there is a wonderful sequence of events. You’ll begin by enjoying the scenic and comfortable ride while visiting with companions, followed by the ultimate excitement of the covey rise and shooting, then back to the relaxed wagon ride. It’s an experience to remember!
Whether you are hunting game or fishing in the 110 acres of lakes, after a day of activity you will return to the lodge for an evening complete with appetizers, beverages and good southern cooking. After a cordial evening spent in the lodge, you may retire to a private or semi-private room and bath for a most peaceful night of rest.
At Old Spring Hill Plantation you are treated like a very special guest. All of our hunts are tailored to the customers pleasure, so, step back in time and enjoy the ultimate retreat-the pleasure of excellent outdoor sports, the comfort of a spacious lodge and congenial hosts, in the historical and beautiful setting known as Old Spring Hill Plantation. |
